Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using TrustWord ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of service

TrustWord is an identity verification app that helps families and friends verify each other's identity during phone calls, text messages, and video chats. It uses shared, rotating passphrases generated from cryptographic secrets stored on your device. After initial setup, verification works fully offline.

User responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the secrets stored within the App. You agree not to:

  • Share your device's cryptographic secrets with unauthorized individuals
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Use the App to impersonate or deceive others

Intellectual property

TrustWord, including its design, code, and content, is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. TrustWord is designed as an additional layer of identity verification and should not be relied upon as the sole method of confirming someone's identity.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrustWord and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to losses resulting from unauthorized access, identity fraud, or reliance on the App's verification features.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
